About Me

I have over 2 years of experience as a software engineer, and have worked at both small startups and large organizations. While I am a proficient Android and Java Enterprise developer, my passion is in building scalable Rails Web Apps.

I love building things. While hard engineering problems are often fun to tackle, I am most attracted to solving real customer problems with a business justification. I am looking for a mid-level software developer role where I can take on team leadership responsibilities, and gain experience with architecture and project management.

  • Created a API, which uses both RESTful and websocket services, that extracts data from a PDF or CSV and creates a standardize JSON output regardless of the document's originator.
  • Integrated the service above with WinePOS client dashboard allowing all of their Merchants to streamline their inventory and accounting processes.
  • Given the opportunity to rewrite WinePOS's mobile Android solution were I was able to improve it's usability and performance, as well as add new features.
  • Manage an extensive FTP extract service to provide customer data to their third party web services.

My personal interests include:

  • Self learning. I have a strong passion for knowledge, with an endless list of questions.
  • Antique Cars. I have had a love and appreciation for antique cars ever since I was old enough to walk. As far back as I can remember, I have helped my father maintain his '58 Apache and '66 Chevelle SS.
  • Adventuring. I enjoy spending weekends around the tri-state area camping, fishing, and hiking.

Recent Projects

  • This One Page Bio is an open source fork that has been tailored to my personal experiences.
  • Created a client-side kiosk-like Android application for a private liquor store to display their live inventory.
